PRODUCT PURCHASE AGREEMENT

Inspired by the Michigan Life Science Cooridor, MLSC, the State of Michigan has allocated funds to be used towards research to improve human health and welfare.  As a result, the Michigan Life Science Purchasing Consortium, MLSPC was formed.  The consortium was established in 2001 in support of Life Science Research.  The MLSPC is comprised of five teaching/research institutions and institutes, Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Van Andel Institute, Wayne State University and Western Michigan University.

The objective of the MLSPC is to consolidate the purchasing volume of its members.  It is expected that agreements will be negotiated for commonly used, high volume supplies, equipment and services, which will impact cost savings, service and overall value to the member institutions.

The MLSPC intends to establish preferred supplier relationships for the procurement of laboratory supplies, equipment, chemicals, and services.  It is expected that vendors will provide high quality product at the best value (lowest life cycle cost) with excellent service.

The intent is for MLSPC members to issue their own purchase order directly to the preferred supply vendor.  Participation in preferred supplier agreements is voluntary for MLSPC members and each member will independently purchase and pay for its own requirements.  Consideration will be given toward minority, woman-owned, or otherwise disadvantaged businesses.  We are committed to utilizing technology to the fullest in the procurement process including electronic ordering, vendor web-sites, and payment processes.
